Enforcement of Chapter 16 - Public Facilities and Utilities
Town of Mountain Park, Oklahoma
The Town of Mountain Park is issuing this notice to inform all residents and property owners that Chapter 16 of the Mountain Park Municipal Code will now be actively enforced. These regulations ensure safe, sanitary, and reliable utility service for the entire community.
Mandatory Connection to the Municipal Water System
- All houses, buildings, and properties used for human occupancy, employment, education, recreation, or similar purposes must connect to the Municipal water system if a town water line is located within 300 feet of the property.
- Property owners must complete the connection at their own expense.
- Once official notice is issued, owners have 120 days to connect and begin paying all applicable fees and usage charges .
Use of Municipal Utility Systems
Chapter 16 also requires:
- All residents and all commercial or business entities must obtain all potable water from the Municipal Water System.
- All such properties must connect to the Municipal Sanitary Sewer System and may not dispose of sewage by any other means unless connection is impossible.
- All residents and businesses must use the Municipal Solid Waste Collection and Disposal System, unless the service is not offered.
These requirements ensure uniform service, protect public health, and maintain compliance with state and local standards.
Additional Chapter 16 Requirements Being Enforced
Utility Meter Access
Meters must always remain unobstructed and accessible.
Tampering Prohibited
Tampering with meters, valves, locks, or any Town utility equipment is strictly prohibited.
Proper Utility Connections
All water connections and service lines must meet Town standards.
Right-of-Way and Easement Restrictions
Town easements must remain clear of structures, trees, or obstructions.
Customer Responsibility for Private Lines
Property owners are responsible for maintaining service lines from the meter to the structure.
Billing and Payment Compliance
All utility bills must be paid by the due date. Late fees and disconnection procedures will be enforced.
The Town's goal is to ensure consistent service, protect public infrastructure, and comply with state and local regulations.
