Traders Alley Cleanup & Access Restoration

The Town of Mountain Park is notifying all residents of upcoming improvements to the town's alleys and access points, specifically the alley commonly referred to as Traders Alley.

A recent review of the area found that current conditions in the alley are unsafe and hazardous, particularly for emergency access. As stated in the mailed notice sent to affected property owners:
"After reviewing the area, the town has been advised that the current conditions are unsafe and hazardous, especially for emergency access."
To ensure public safety and restore proper access, the Town will be reopening and usingthe alley as a functioning alley again, and Pine Street will also be reopened.

Removal of Personal Property
Residents with property that borders Traders Alley must ensure that no personal
belongings - including fences, vehicles, equipment, or other items-remain on Town-owned right-of-way.
As stated in the mailed notice:
"If you have any personal belongings - fences, vehicles, equipment, or other items-located on Town property within the alley, please remove them within 30 days."

Removing items ahead of cleanup will help avoid damage or removal.

Scheduled Cleanup
Kiowa County crews will begin clearing the alley in late July/mid August so it can be safely accessed and properly maintained going forward.

Purpose of the Project

This cleanup is necessary to:
• Restore emergency access
• Improve public safety
• Ensure proper maintenance of public right-of-way
• Reopen Pine Street for community use

The Town appreciates everyone's cooperation as we work to keep Mountain Park safe, accessible, and well-maintained.
