Ordinances to be Approved at August Town Meeting

Proposed Amendments to Section 13-32 Noise Ordinance, 2026-4, and 2026-5

The Town of Mountain Park Board of Trustees will consider an amendment to Section 13-32 of the Town Code of Ordinances regarding amplified sound from motor vehicles.
The proposed amendment would establish a fifty (50) foot plainly-audible standard for sound emitted from radios, speakers, or other amplified devices in motor vehicles.
Summary of Proposed Amendment:
• Amplified sound from a motor vehicle may not be plainly audible at a distance of fifty (50) feet from the vehicle.
• "Plainly audible" includes any sound clearly heard by a person using normal hearing, including bass reverberations.
• Observation by a law enforcement officer is sufficient to establish a violation.

The Board of Trustees of the Town of Mountain Park will consider Ordinance No. 2026-4, an ordinance authorizing a Town Trustee to hold an additional municipal position pursuant to 11 O.S. § 8-106.
Under Oklahoma law, a Trustee may not hold another municipal position unless the Board of Trustees expressly authorizes it by ordinance, and the Trustee cannot receive any additional pay or financial compensation for performing the duties of that position, including enforcement of Town codes or ordinances.
The proposed ordinance formally authorizes a Trustee to serve in an additional municipal
capacity without any extra compensation, as required by state statute.

The Board of Trustees of the Town of Mountain Park will consider Ordinance No. 2026-5, amending the Mountain Park Code of Ordinances to:
• Authorize Reserve Police Officers to work up to thirty-five (35) hours per week in
accordance with current CLEET regulations; and
• Establish compensation limitations clarifying that Reserve Police Officers are not
eligible for holiday pay, premium pay, or any additional compensation beyond their
established hourly rate.
The proposed ordinance also affirms that Reserve Officers are not considered full-time
employees for purposes of benefits or leave accrual.
